December 9, 2009 - Altogether 45 NGOs applied for support in the program „In order for families to be functional“ of the ČSOB financial group foundation fund at Pontis Foundation. ČSOB financial group announced this grant giving program in cooperation with the Pontis Foundation for the first time on October 19, 2009. The aim of the program is to support projects focused on systematic work with families in crises situations, preventive programs for endangered families and programs oriented at developing family type of caretaking of children from orphan houses. Five projects were supported from the fund by the total amount of 30 870 eur.
„The number and content of the registered projects showed us how important and necessary solving problematic areas connected with a healthy functioning of the family environment is. Although there are many non-governmental organizations devoted to this topic we see that the lack of finances is a frequent obstacle in realizing concrete activities. We are therefore happy that thanks to this grant giving program we can contribute to at least a few of them,“ says Tereza Molnár Copláková, Head of Public Relations at ČSOB.
The supported organizations have been working with families for a long time and through their projects systematically deal with various areas, problematic for many families. Altogether five projects will be supported.

This project was supported by 6 628 eur.

Families of these children are endangered by exclusion and disintegration. Regular social counseling, field work with the family in their household and the creation of a self-help group of parents can help all members of the family (the child with the illness, the parents and the healthy siblings) come to terms with the situation and improve their self-competence. The project was supported by 5 494 eur.
