we picked 8 belarusian ngos for the cross-sectoral partnerships project

August 10, 2010Based on experience from Slovakia, the Pontis Foundation and the World Association of Belarusians - Batskauschyna chose 8 Belarusian non-governmental organizations for the projectCooperation for the community: Building the cross-sectoral cooperation in Belarus based on Slovak experience. The main aim of the project is to contribute to long-term strengthening of sustainability of Belarusian NGOs by creating partnerships with the entrepreneurial sector in the country. The project is supported from the funds of the Official Slovak Development Assistance - Slovak Aid.

Based on the applications and discussions with 13 non-governmental organizations that took place during our evaluation trip to Belarus in July 2010, in cooperation with our partner organization Batskauschyna, we chose 8 organisations, which have the potential to develop a cooperation with the entrepreneurial sector.

The chosen organizations will participate at three trainings taking place this autumn. Every organization has the possibility to delegate two of its representatives to these trainings, where they will learn how to communicate with companies and include them in activities beneficial for the local community.

At the same time, the trainings will help the participating organizations become more reliable and trustworthy partners for the companies. One of the most important parts of the training’s program is for the participating NGOs to create offers for long-term cooperation with companies.

The project Cooperation for the community: Building the cross-sectoral cooperation in Belarus based on Slovak experience, is supported from funds of the Slovak official development aid – Slovak Aid.
