how did we use your 2% tax income contribution

Transparency is one of the most important principles we are incorporating into our daily work. This principle is emphasized in our financial management.

In this section we present an overview of the way income tax contributions are distributed.

Thanks to the existence of the 2% tax income contribution from personal and corporate entities we have received financial funding  in the following amounts since 2003:

The majority of contributions coming from the 2% tax contribution were allocated directly towards non-governmental organisations in support of their projects and their institutional strengthening.

The financial resources listed above were distributed between 2003 – 2006 and were utilized up until December 31st, 2007 in the following ways:

◊ 87% to 242 non-governmental Slovak organisations

(the list of supported organisations is available here )

◊ 5% for managing grant programmes within the Pontis Foundation i. e. administration and operation costs; rental fees;  audit; travel and communication costs and wages of programme coordinators. (The role of which, is to prepare documentation for grant rounds, administer evaluations and selection processes, manage the grant allocations within agreed terms and instalments, check running reports on implementation and monitor field projects)

◊ 8% for financing other activities of the Pontis Foundation (eg. The creation of a website for The Slovak Union of Supported Employment, support for the Via Bona Slovakia Award program, the production of a CSR Album – a guide  of CSR activities implemented by Business Leaders Forum members, and the IdeaXchange program and more)

Distribution of grants across regions according to absolute number

 

The Slovakian Ministry of Finance conducted a review of the Pontis Foundation in the period, Nov 20, 2007 to Dec 20, 2007. It specifically examined the utilization of public funding received through the 2% income tax contribution in the period 2003 – 2006 . The review confirmed the fulfillment of all statutory instruments and legal standards.
