Fund for Transparent Slovakia<\/h3>\n

The Fund for Transparent Slovakia was established on the initiative of seven member companies in 2012. Its main objective is to improve transparency and promote a healthy business environment by supporting watchdog and analytical organizations which control the activities of public institutions and public financial management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Transparency and trust are essential for the development of society and the effective functioning of the civic sector. Being part of the Fund for Transparent Slovakia is therefore a natural step for us towards strengthening our responsibility and commitment to promoting transparency, integrity, civil engagement, and building a cohesive society in Slovakia.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Fund for Transparent Slovakia currently has 11 members. Last year, within the Fund, we launched support for projects focused on identifying shortcomings, proposing systemic improvements, and increasing civic pressure for the effective management of public resources. The projects supported through the 2025 Watchdogs of Public Procurement grant call will be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n

In recent years, grant calls have also been announced under the Impact Lab programme, which develops the skills of civic organisations thanks to European support. In addition to increased financial support, organisations also benefited from mentoring focused on developing their organisational and human resources capacities, enabling them to become a strong part of our society. Within Impact Lab, the Fund for Transparent Slovakia supports projects aimed at strengthening democracy.<\/p>\n

The Fund also contributes to raising awareness of cases of misconduct and to the fight against corruption by supporting investigative journalism. Following three editions of the Investigative Journalism Academy, the Fund co-financed a project of the J\u00e1n Kuciak Investigative Center in 2024\u20132025 aimed at expanding the network of journalists in regions with insufficient media coverage.<\/p>\n

Among the successfully completed projects in 2025 was also a grant supporting the strengthening of democracy in the Bardejov district, awarded by the committee with the aim of developing democratic principles at the regional level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n

        Thanks to the support of the fund, we were able to launch several important projects aimed at strengthening public oversight. One example is the Open Courts portal, which provides access to a searchable database of court rulings and enables users to evaluate the work of judges, and which, after its launch, was used by up to half a million users annually. We were also able to repeatedly update the map of family connections within the judiciary, which contributed to the public debate on more transparent and fairer appointments to positions in Slovak courts.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
